Dumbos Flying Circus - Atari 2600

DUMBOS FLYING CIRCUS

Dumbo's Flying Circus was scheduled to be part of Atari's children's series (which included characters from Peanuts, Sesame Street, Disney, Muppets, and Garfield), but it never saw the light of day.

Dumbo was one of three titles from Disney (the other being Snow White and Donald Duck) that were cancelled extremely late into their development cycle. Atari even advertised Dumbo in European Atari catalogs and had a prototype box made, so the decision to shelve it must have been made quite late. Even though Dumbo was developed as a children's game, the gameplay is quite challenging which could be the reason that it was never released.

The controls are as follows:

Joystick - Maneuver Dumbo in conventional directions (up, down, left, right).
Up - Moves Donald’s speedboat left and right to navigate through the obstacle course of rocks and whirlpools.
Fire Button - Shoots a peanut from Dumbo's trunk to pop balloons.

*TIP*

Focus on mastering ear-flapping for lift, prioritize shooting explosive balloons, and catching clowns to prevent them from building high-wire obstacles.
